The panna cotta with strawberry recipe is a classic italian dessert is a deliciously sweet suitable for all seasons. The cream may be aromatized with vanilla, or other flavorings.
Panna cotta with strawberry
- 500 ml of fresh cream;
- 90 gr of sugar;
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract;
- 6 gr gelatin.
for the strawberry sauce:
- 300 gr strawberries, chopped;
- 3 teaspoon of sugar;
- 1/2 lemon juice.
In a saucepan mix the cream and sugar and turn on the heat at the lowest level (the mixture should never get to boil). ,After 10 minutes turn off the heat, add in the sugar and the vanilla extract and stir. In another small bowl, combine the gelatin in water and allow it to completely soften (see pik).
Timing is very important at this phase. The gelatin should not remain in the water too long. About 5/6 min should be enough.
Stir the gelatin into the cream mixture. Transfer the prepared pudding mixture in ramekins, after it has cooled down to the room temperature, refrigerate for at least 6 hours. In a saucepan, mix the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice and leave it develop flavor. Add the strawberry sauce to the panna cotta just before serving.
